Pertandingan ini diadakan bagi menyambut Hari Ibu 2011. Balai Seni Lukis Negara (BSLN) akan mengadakan pertandingan fotografi bertemakan ‘Kasihnya Ibu’ bagi menyemarakkan lagi sambutan Hari Ibu 2011 yang dibuka kepada semua kaum wanita di Malaysia yang berumur di antara 18 tahun dan ke atas. Bersama pertandingan ini juga BSLN akan mengadakan pameran seni catan yang juga bertemakan “Kasihnya Ibu”.
